Welcome

The Rostraver Township Sewage Authority, organized under the Municipal Authorities Act of 1945, was incorporated on March 18,1963 as a municipal corporation of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Members of the Authority are appointed to a five year term by the Rostraver Township Commissioners.

In 1972 the Authority began construction of the Sweeney Fellsburg Treatment Plant located on Coal Hollow Road, and the sewer system in the Sweeney Plan and Fellsburg Area. The engineering for both projects was completed by Westmoreland Engineers.

In 1998 KLH Engineers was hired and plans were started for the updgrade of the Sweeney Fellsburg Treatment Plant from 400,000 gallons per day to 1,500,000 gallons per day, and the installation of sewers for Collinsburg and the remaining areas of Fellsburg. A $5,765,000.00 bond issue was sold by the Township Commissioners in 2000 for the construction of the treatment plant and two PennVest loans totaling $2,381,471.00 plus $1,000,000.00 grant were acquired in February 2001 for the construction of the sewer lines.

In the beginning of 2005 the Sewage Authority and the Township Commissioners entered into a Consent Order and Agreement for the construction of the sewage facilities in Rehoboth area to serve Lynnwood, Pricedale and route 201 North area to Virginia Drive. The Consent Order and Agreement also requires the installation of sewer lines on Rt.51/I-70 from C. Harper Chevrolet south to the Get-GO Convienence Mart, the Concord Area, west on Finley Road and the Matty Plan. KLH Engineers were retained to design the Rt.51.I-70 project and ATS-Chester Engineers was hired to design the Rehoboth-Speers Run project.
